CarDon & Associates, Inc. Appoints Tom Mullins as Administrator at Cumberland Trace
PLAINFIELD: CarDon & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce Tom Mullins as the Health Facility Administrator for the 17th CarDon senior living community, Cumberland Trace, set to open this May in Plainfield. At full occupancy, the first phase of Cumberland Trace will create approximately 125 employment opportunities.
As a former CarDon employee – Administrator for University Heights in the early 2000’s – Mullins is well acquainted with and fully embraces CarDon’s family-first approach to senior care. “Families simply reach a point where the kind of care needed cannot be provided at home,” Mullins emphasizes. “With assisted living apartments, short term rehabilitation, memory support and long term care, we become an extension of the family.”
Mullins is looking to build his team with an emphasis on customer service. “The character, the work ethic, a focus on the people we care for, those are some of the qualities I want to find in individuals,” Mullins said in a recent interview. Originally from Florida, he moved to Indianapolis in 1977 and has been working in senior healthcare for over 32 years.
Outside of work, Mullins and his family are very active throughout the community. In the past, Mullins served as the Special Olympics county coordinator for 7 years. As equestrian coaches, Mullins and his wife host a riding program for special needs individuals every summer. He and his wife are also active with Clermont Christian Church.
When asked what has kept him in the industry for 32 years, Mullins answered, “When it’s all said and done, I think that taking care of the generation that went before us is a real honor. It’s just something that’s a privilege.”
